The best thing about standing out is the judging stares you get from hateful people, its like youre a walking loser detector.
At face value I can seem scary, weird, freaky, all names ive been called. but to me that just means im doing perfectly, it means i choose authenticity over approval. and the fact that I refuse to shrink myself down to fit into social norms just to feel 'accepted' fills me with the most self acceptance ive ever had. Theres such a powerful liberation in realising that belonging doesnt have to relate at all to blending in. living alternatively allows you to shape a life that is influenced by personal meaning rather than outside validation.
